When you want to attack the defense quickly, look no further than the Louisville “Slice” offense. This offense is initiated with the 1 at the top of the key, and the 3 and 4 spread down to the corners. Other two players are at the elbows and that allows a lot of options to attack. This play, called “Slice High Ball Screen (HBS)”, is the fastest attack play in the playbook.
Position One
Big elbow man sets an off-ball screen to free up the shoot guard at the opposite elbow. Guard pops to the opposite side wing.
Position Two
Screen man comes up from the elbow to set a ball screen for the ball handler. Primary option is for the ball handler to attack the basket. Other options can come on a seal pick and roll from the high ball screen for a backside pass, or kick outs to shooters in the corners.
